Circle Tag and Scramble to Balance

From an article by the Youth Fitness Guy, David Kittner ( at Hometown Hockey is a video and instructions for two agility drills. The first is Circle Tag.

Here’s a drill that combines aspects of free play with teamwork, lateral movement, reacting on the fly and communication.

David also adds ways to step it up. Making everyone but the tagger and tagee have their eyes closed. Remember none of these take a lot of room and can be done in the middle of the rink, an entrance way to the rink (until the rink managers yell at you), a corner of the rink or a field/gym.

All players need to watch what they eat and drink during the season

Elite athlete or weekend warrior? It is important to keep eating healthy and properly hydrate all during your season. Wings and ribs (unfortunately) are out. Presumably the pitcher of beer post game should go too.

However, the times have changed and even weekend warriors are paying attention to nutrition these days. Why? It extends your career. Makes getting up for work the next day less painful.
